And when you leave here
Gonna watch you go
From somewhere I can see you
Down in the street below
And if a snow is falling
Falling all around
You'll leave a line of footsteps
That'll never make a sound.
Not one sound.

I know that out there
A tree falls every day
They get old and they get worn out
And have nothing left to say
They lie down slowly
Slowly to the ground
Like heads upon a pillow
And they never make a sound.
Not one sound.

And when I fall to pieces
Not knowing what to do
I'll remember all the good days
Were the ones I had with you.

That empty feeling
In the middle of the night
When you're up to see the sunrise
There's no comfort in the light
The rain was pouring
Pouring right on down
But here inside the darkness
It never made a sound.
Not one sound.
